Eric Chambers is a Hip Hop collage artist from The Bronx, New York. He has a M.A in Art Education from the College of New Rochelle, and is attracted to primarily Black visual artists, ranging from Romare Bearden, Deborah Roberts, Harmonia Rosales, Amy Sherald and Barkley L. Hendricks, among others. Armed with a pair of scissors and a pile of magazines, he attempts to capture iconic moments in Hip Hop, whether the muse is a particular artist, or a monumental moment in the culture.

His goal is not to simply copy Hip Hop album covers precisely as the original, but rather to deconstruct an entire scene, then reimage it using highly stylized African sculptures from various regions such as Nigeria, Benin, Zimbabwe, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Guinea, Ivory Coast and Mali. His purpose for using African sculptures is to inform the viewer, whether characters in his works are famous musical artists, or a random person, these people are descendants from African kings, queens, warriors, astronomers and architects.
